Meryl Streep Doesn’t Buy into Hollywood Hype
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,
Meryl Streep doesn't think she's the "most wonderful thing in the world."
While the 64-year-old star is one of the most celebrated actresses in Hollywood - with three Oscars under her belt - she admits she doesn't buy into the hype and credits her children with keeping her feet on the ground. "When I'm not acting I don't have any sort of belief that I'm the most wonderful thing in the world. I have four children who remind me of this regularly! I'm under no illusions about my limitations as a human being," Meryl - who has four grown-up children, Henry, Mamie, Grace and Louisa - said.
The actress plays Violet Weston, an addict mother who has strained relations with her long-suffering children, in August: Osage County, and she admits she struggled with the role as she is so devoted to her kids Henry, 34, Mamie, 30, Grace, 27, and Louisa, 22. When quizzed if her children have seen her portrayal of a bad mother, Meryl said, "They haven't seen it yet except my youngest and she said, 'Mom, everybody is going to hate you but you're so good in this.' I realized it's worth risking everything to go to a place where you'll be loathed."

Gwyneth Paltrow Stunned By Sex Offer
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,
Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed she was propositioned for sex in return for a part when she started her acting career.
The Oscar-winning star was left stunned when an unnamed guy suggested they should conclude their meeting in “the bedroom”—an offer she refused.
“When I was just starting out, someone suggested that we finish a meeting in the bedroom, I left. I was pretty shocked. I could see how someone who didn’t know better might worry, ‘My career will be ruined if I don’t give this guy a b**w j*b!’”
Just as it is hard for actresses starting out in Hollywood, Gwyneth insists it is also tough for female stars approaching their 40s. The 38-year-old blonde is stunned by the lack of variety in the roles she is offered, and often feels “dejected.” Speaking in the annual Women in Hollywood issue of Elle magazine, Gwyneth said, “There are a lot of roles that are OK, but there’s little that’s really good, especially for someone my age. Sometimes you find out that something you really liked is going to someone 10 years younger. I find it heartening that Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have been able to find and create amazing projects.”

Meryl Streep Still Comfortable with Love Scenes
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies,

Meryl Streep - who plays a woman having an affair with her ex-husband in It’s Complicated - said she doesn’t have a problem acting out sex scenes at this point in her career.
“Sex scenes, love scenes. Yes, at this age it’s unusual for somebody to do a love scene, to be making love. Yeah, that is unusual. But that is just how benighted we are. Because, you know, we still are alive. It’s you and I, baby. It’s authentic,” the 60-year-old said.
The Hollywood star - who acts alongside Alec Baldwin in the film - claims she doesn’t understand why some people are so surprised she is still happy to go so far at her age. “The whole idea that you have to look a certain way and be a certain age to earn love is ridiculous. We love what we love. It doesn’t matter what shape it is. It’s thrilling to see real people on screen,” Streep stated.
